Leslie Brengle lives, works, and plays in the City of York. As an Occupational Therapist (OT), they have experience in outpatient, acute care, and home health settings. Understating how others live, what work they need to do every day, and how they love to play is what drives Leslie’s practice.

Jenny Englerth has spent nearly 25 years working to improve the health of vulnerable populations through her employment with federally qualified community health centers. Currently, she serves as the President & CEO of Family First Health, a not-for-profit health care system providing high quality and cost-effective care in urban and rural communities throughout south central Pennsylvania.

Ellen will discuss the purpose of summer kitchens, types of ovens through history, how meals were prepared, and where examples can be found locally.
Ellen Gibb retired in 2013 after spending 43 years in the food industry. Work experiences included counting the number of beans in a can of pork and beans, developing ideas for canned and frozen foods, evaluating raw materials and finished products for a chocolate company, learning to identify spices and herbs by aroma and flavor, and developing new flavors for baked goods. She grew up on a dairy farm in southern Minnesota where she learned to bake breads and desserts. After retirement, she had the opportunity to learn how to bake in a wood-fired brick oven. From there, she studied the history and recipes from this time to be more authentic in her baking.
Doug Henderson

Learn about Doug’s film career and how York's growing film industry is creating opportunities for our community.
Doug Henderson is determined to make movies here in York. Over his career as an actor, writer, producer, director, and editor, he has accumulated credits in more than 50 film and television projects. As the co-founder of the York-based production company Everything’s Fire, Doug has successfully produced five locally-made feature films and has plans for many more.

Musical Connections: How Being a Musician Built A Stronger Foundation
Music has been a strong component of Roth’s life. In tough times, making music was the only constant. Being a trained pianist, Roth has been able to view the connections that are made in music. During the day, Roth uses this insight to view connections in the community. Roth will share the importance that music had in contributing to his life and how it has built the foundation for his work in grant-making.
Roth J. Preap, a York native, attended York City School District and received degrees in Music from York College of Pennsylvania through the York College Community Scholarship Program. Today, Roth helps to build a stronger and more vibrant community by working as the Grants Program Officer for the York County Community Foundation, Operations and Personnel Manager for the York Youth Symphony Orchestra, and by bringing together people through the love of music.

A self-proclaimed jerk of all trades, this Monster creates to inspire, motivate, and break down stigmas. Don’t fear the Monster.
From a young little Monster lost in the world of drawing and books, to a downtown York small business owner with Monster-Big Ideas, Lauren Rae cultivates an experience of history, magic and art for Darklings near and far. Through accessible community events such as Fang Around, in-haus workshops, live entertainment, and more, she utilizes her various skills and talents to create a unique experience that breaks down stigmas and fears associated with alternative individuals. Her shop, The Dark Parlour – Haus of Obscurities, featuring dark art, antiques, collectibles and witchy wares, can be found in Royal Square District.
